Ladder Ties
Every year people are killed or injured while using ladders. Over half of these accidents occur because ladders
are not securely placed and fixed. The sudden movement of the ladder sliding sideways or the bottom moving outwards
will cause a loss of balance, resulting in a potentially fatal fall.
Ladder ties are installed in to the building structure to enable the tying off of the ladder. BS 8213 recommends
that when ladders are used as a means of access, they should have a level and firm footing and the ladder should
be restrained by the attachment of ropes or straps to an anchorage fixed to the wall.
Ladder ties are manufactured from grade 316 stainlesss steel and can be fixed to varying base materials. Each tie is load tested on completion.
